R+P Post 20: Reflections so far/looking ahead

A lot of things went well during our preparation of the test shoot. Our storyboard, shootboard and animatic were all good and helped us greatly when it came to shooting. The storyboard outlined the plot of our story, letting us then divide that plot into different shots and organise them in a way that would let us shoot them efficiently. The animatic helped us once we had to edit, allowing us to quickly put in the shots into the right order, and have them as the correct duration. The edit, while being good practice, also provided a more accurate frame work for our project, and we would be able to replace these shots with those in the main shoot.

The test shoot, although being a failure in some ways, was a big help for us. It outlined the main problems of our shoot, to do with lighting and some shooting and as a result we will take more care in future. The mistake of having not had one of our shots has also made us more cautious, we will be sure to be more diligent on our main shoot when it comes to shooting.
