R+P Post 11: Our Storyboard

We decided that we should create a story board so that we could more easily form a mental image of the opening sequence. To make this story board we drew out our shots on post-it notes and stuck them on a large piece of paper. The use of post-it notes means that we will be able to change around shots easily, so we could sort out any mistakes we found. We colour coded these post-it notes so that we could distinguish between different shot types, such as close up, mid and long shots; these were coloured yellow, blue and pink respectively. The full story board is shown below.

After we had added in all of our shots we decided to put smaller notes in between or under the post-it notes, these were used to indicate things such as the transitions between the shots (e.g. cut or fade) and changes in the music.

Overall the storyboard was very useful as it allowed us to plan out our shots and will also help us when we make our animatic.
